George J. Deblon
Deputy Grand Master
George J. Deblon was born on June 14, 1963, the son of Christina T. (Claus) and Charles M. Deblon. He has one brother, Charles, and three sisters, Joyce, Teresa and Patti. He attended Dewey Elementary in Bogota, NJ, moved to Pittsfield, VT with his family and attended Whitcomb Jr/Sr High School, in Bethel, where he graduated in 1981. He attended Randolph Vocational School, recreational/agriculture mechanics, and was the vice president of the Central VT Chapter of Future Farmers of America in 1980 – 1981.
George and his Lady, Kerry, live in Pittsfield, VT. Between the two of them they have three boys, Dylan, Derick and Daron.
George’s interest in vehicles and heavy equipment have influenced his earlier jobs, and in 1991 he became the Road Commissioner for the Town of Pittsfield. He has been recognized by the regional commission and other state identities for his work practices.
George has been active in many town and community projects and served on many local committees. He is currently serving as a Select Board member, Justice of Peace, on the Board of Civil Authority, is one of the Cemetery Commissioners, on the Republican Caucus Committee, on the board of Civil Defense, and is active in the Pittsfield Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as Fire Chief for eight years. He is also a member of the Two Rivers – Ottauquechee RPC Transportation Advisory Committee.
George was raised as a Master Mason on March 5, 1988, at Rural Lodge # 29 in Rochester, VT where he served as Master from 1994-1996. He is currently secretary of that lodge. He is a member of the E.J. Wildblood Jr. Vermont Lodge of Research and a Charter member the Young Masons Lodge of Vermont. He is a member of the Scottish Rite Consistory of the Valley of Burlington and the Council Valley of Rutland, and a member of Cairo Shriners of Rutland. He is also a member of Forest-Unity Chapter # 82, Order of the Eastern Star. He is Grand Representative to the Grand Lodge of Oregon. He served as District Deputy Grand Master of the First Masonic District from June 14, 2006 through June 11, 2008 and Grand Senior Deacon from June 11, 2008 through June 10, 2009. On June 10, 2009 he was appointed as Grand Lecturer for the Grand Lodge of Vermont by Grand Master Thomas Johnston, IV. On June 15, 2011, George was elected as the Grand Junior Warden.
