About the property:

The Lodge was erected in 1958 by Champlain Lodge #68 I.O.O.F, with Dorechester Lodge #1 and Otter Creek Chapter #74, Order of Eastern Star as lessees. Otter Creek #74 O.E.S. members became so few by 1996 that survivors joined members of sister Chapters in Bristol or Salisbury, leaving the Odd Fellows and Masons as building tenants.

In 1998 a similar decline in membership forced the Odd Fellows to close their Lodge and surrender its Charter; the Vergenners Masonic Assoc., Inc. opted to purchase the property and all building contents from the Grand Lodge of VT Odd Fellows, taking title in August 2000. In 2004, the Director of Curriculum & Staff Development of the Northwest Supervisory School District was granted an interim use of first floor rooms for three days each month.
